Kallis leaned into his staff, his green eyes watching the treeline in the distance.
It seemed as if they were waiting for the Templar. For a moment—and only for a moment—he felt an odd concern. What if she wasn't coming? What if this assignment was over?
Looking away from the trees, he watched the others with an odd fascination; as if he'd never seen a collective of so many different people before. They were all different, and they came in different sizes. They smelled different, spoke different. Only one of them had magic.
Staying silent—even when the boy spoke directly to him—Kallis waited.

Asira joined others in the waiting game, glancing around, expecting to see the Templar appear from behind the small houses any moment now. But there was no one. Even the beggar that usually hung around by the tavern seemed to be off sleeping somewhere. The cool air of the morning was already starting to warm up, which she wasn't too fond of. Her getup already provided warmth and it only got uncomfortable when the weather joined in.
"Would anyone object to getting on the move without the Templar? She has two feet to use to catch up with us, doesn't she?" Asira sighed after a moment, with impatience in her voice. While she liked the idea of having a Templar there for a Darkspawn punching bag, she wasn't willing to wait for too long, not when she knew the woman didn't need anyone holding her hand for a bit of walking.

"... Screw it, I'm with Asira. If she's too scared of a few puny darkspawn then she should just stay home," Za'afiel said as he picked up his pack and slung it over his shoulder.
"Anyone else want to chicken out?"
The Wardens were getting very antsy.

QUOTE ( Jeff as Dourdan)
"That's funny. This is my horse named Chicken," he said, gesturing to his Templar escort, who was not amused.

Asira was surprised over how Za seemed to be even more impatient than she was. Maybe he actually liked offing Darkspawn - or maybe he had a death wish, though it didn't seem like it based on the conversation they had had the previous evening.
She was not sure it was wise to ask if anyone wanted to chicken out; looking at this group, half of them might take him up on his offer to leave. Hell, she would if she hadn't settled down in that Maker forsaken town, making it easy for the Chantry to make her life harder if they felt like it. She didn't have the time for dealing with that sort of nonsense. She had a fairly set time limit on her life.
"Easy there Zaffel. I don't think I've heard any clucking outta these boys and girls yet."

Obviously Loirevel was ready to go. She'd been bouncing on her toes for the past ten minutes, glancing impatiently back into town as if the Templar would magically appear just because she willed it so.
It wasn't that she was in any great rush to hunt Darkspawn.
She just didn't want to be here, among all of them, anymore. She'd much rather pit her luck with a small band of humans. It might be less painful.
She didn't react to anyone directly, but she straightened as the Wardens came to their decision, obviously ready to get the hell out of there. The journey itself would be rough, she knew, but it couldn't be much worse than putting up with the stink of so many of them at once.
